The Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) program has been offering graduate study online since 1989 celebrating 30 years as an online program in 2018! We bring a wealth of experience in online teaching, collaborating virtually, and assisting students with accomplishing their goals from their location and from their point of learning need.
Students in the OPWL online graduate programs are working in or aspire to work in human resource development, learning and development, process improvement, project management, change management, performance improvement and organizational development. Improving performance and sharpening desired outcomes warrants careful analysis and multidimensional solutions. Students work on real world projects in the classroom with portfolio samples and a portfolio website graduate study outcomes.
OPWL faculty bring expertise in online learning, adult learning, instructional design, e-learning design and development, learning experience design, performance improvement, and organizational development. OPWL faculty offer opportunities for students to collaborate in their research labs, co-author manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and/or to create an independent study in an area of your choosing!
OPWL also offers a variety of resources to assist students with accomplishing their professional development goals, such as;

• paid internships with organizations and instructional design firms,
• a portfolio development class with portfolio sample development in numerous courses, and

The online Graduate Certificate in Workplace Instructional Design (WIDe) emphasizes the knowledge and skills required to create instructional programs to improve employee productivity. The certificate in WIDe is intended for individuals who are interested in designing learning experiences and performance-based instruction, and developing and delivering learning programs for business, government agencies, the military, and nonprofit organizations. Courses include principles of adult learning, instructional design, learning experience design, online learning in learning management systems, project management tools, and facilitation skills.
Workplace E-Learning Design and Development (WELDD) online graduate certificate
The online Graduate Certificate in Workplace E-Learning Design and Development (WELDD) is designed for individuals who intend to develop skills in designing and developing e-learning content for the workplace. This WELDD certificate program focuses on how to develop e-learning products with Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Snagit, Vyond and and how to implement them in a learning management systems, as well as how to design e-learning content using storyboarding and scenario-based learning, game-based and gamified learning, and design thinking in the e-learning design and development process.
Workplace Performance Improvement (WPI) online graduate certificate
The online Graduate Certificate in Workplace Performance Improvement (WPI) is designed for individuals who intend to develop skills in diagnosing and solving performance problems in the workplace.
